Azul Pirineo
Its a blue-shaded sandstone, sometimes with brown spots and with fine-semi-fine uniform grain. It is highly suitable for pavements and coatings due to its high mechanical resistance, its anti-slip characteristics, its low absorption coefficient, and its low abrasive wear.

Geographically, the Pyrenean Blue rock quarry is located in Martes municipality, in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Geologically, the exploited materials correspond to the Tertiary formations of the South-Pyrenean Zone and more concretely in the Average Depression.
The exploited materials were originated with the change in the stress regime that took place from the superior Cretaceous and caused by the the African, Iberian and European plates’ convergence which manifested itself in the Pyrenees during the foreland basins’ genesis from the inferior Eocene. The exploited materials belong to Belsué-Atarés formation. This is a deltaic formation, constituted by an alternation of sandstone and grey bluish marls of up to 650 meters, organized in coarsening sequences that laterally go through Pamplona’s Marls.
The inclination of the layers (40º) in favour of the quarry’s slope allows an operation that does not require great material's dismantling, which reduces the environmental and visual impact of the quarry, besides allowing a better resources’ optimization by OLNASA.
