From its location in a rocky outcrop to its final purpose as an architectonic or artistic element, the natural stone follows a process that in essence includes different phases which are the selection and extraction in quarry, the cuts and pieces’ sizing, the works or superficial finishing, the storage and finally the products’ commercialization.
1.- Extracción del material en cantera
By the quarry, Taller de Cantería Olnasa’s technicians make geology studies to select the stones of greater quality which will be later extracted and transported to the factory for its transformation. Once the resources exhausted, OLNASA restores the landscape to its original form, thus contributing to the environmental conservation.
The complete transformation’s process takes place in the Taller de Cantería Olnasa’s facilities with the aid of the natural stone sector’s high technology. This combined with stone-cutting traditional techniques provide products of really high quality.
The blocks extracted in the quarry are divided in boards of different thickness by means of blade, diamond wire and saws. Once the boards are made, the stones’ final sizing is realized thanks to diamond circular saw blades.
3.- Working o superficial finishing
It is at this moment when the products are given their final form and texture. Manual or mechanical means are used according to the needs.
Once the natural stone units with the wished finishing obtained, they are put on pallet and stored for their future commercialization. Each pallet has a card identifying the order’s details and the workers involved in their creation.
The commercialization of Taller de Cantería OLNASA’s products takes place in the technical office located in the Uncastillo’s facilities. This is where OLNASA’s sales persons offer their advice based on their knowledge of the material, the application’s systems and constructive solutions. As well, the technical office counts on a permanent exhibition of products available to the clients.
